I purchased a service which provides a Dell ESP 440 with CentOS 4.x. I connected via SSH and when I type ‘LS’ all I see is a file called ‘anaconda-ks.cfg’. It appears like the server is empty. I’ve done a lot of freelance PHP programming and some ‘light’ server functions; I’ve setup a few IIS servers but nothing of this scope. Basically I am developing a large-scale website, Joomla-based, with server-side video transcoding (using FFMPEG). Any good online tutorials on setting this type of server up?

I am very new at really just about anything to do with creating websites. All i know how to do at this point is set up and run contnet management systems like Joomla. I was wondering if PHP works on server 08, or if there are freeware programs out there similar to joomla that run on ASP or .NET frameworks. Thank you very very much in advnace!

I have a ton of pictures that I want to make available online using some sort of photo album tech. The problem is I dont have time to upload individually all 989 pictures! I currently have 400+ of the pictures in a folder on my FTP server. Also a free program or code would be nice. I am big into mambo and joomla. Currently have coppermine Photo gallery. I am thinking there has to be some sort of program out there that will let me point right to this folder containing the pics I already have uploaded.

I have just installed Joomla on my Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 computer. With the following programs:
IIS (Internet Information Services) 7
MySQL 5.1
PHP 5.2.8
and Joomla 1.58.
After spending hours watching tutorials on how to set the computer up for Joomla i was relieved when I finally saw the Installation webpage. All the ‘things’ it checks for initially where fine. So I went on ahead entering all of the information required for installation. However I came to the page where you have to enter your email address, password etc. which I did and pressed the button to continue on then I comes up with 500 Internal Server Error. How can I fix this to finish the installation and start using Joomla?
No matter what I do I can’t seen to bypass It.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

need some major help, my recent web developer sort of went off to another planet, and now im stuck with a slow site. The server is from gagua.net i believe and for some reason is really slow. I get complaints well not complaints but remarks as to how slow it sometimes is. I frequently get “internal server error” when im browsing the site, or even when im editing through the joomla css editor. is there ANY way to transfer to another server company? or do something to fix this speed issue? thanks for all your support…the site is
