i get kind of frustrated looking for tutorials/video help/good forums centered around freeware-think gimp or joomla.
im thinking about making a website with all the best freeware.
It would include descriptions and details,comprehensive video tutorials for each program, links to publishers sites, links to forums, screenshots of freeware interfaces, a rating system, and other stuff
Do you think that people would benfit from a site like this?
Also is there another site out there like this that i dont know about-please tell me if there is

I use dreamwaver, Photoshop and other tools. But I don’t know nothing about joomla. The information i’ve found today is extremely techie and confuse for me. I’ve got a new hosting service with fantastico and it has great programs. How must I start? Is out there a manual for humans, not for linux nerds? (I use linux, windows and Mac OSx but I must build the site in windows and then transfer it to the linux hosting service).
This web site is for our federation, with info for people about training, events, data base with fitness technicians, a forum, image gallery. I’ve been told Joomla can make it easier for me. Please, Please, help me.

So I am a web designer, I design web sites in Photoshop and then I create HTML code. I am great with static web sites but I am not very good at web programming (PHP) and I would like to learn it but really cannot find much time for it lately. So my question is is there a way for me to create my own design in Photoshop/Dreamweaver and then use my own design with CMS solutions like Wordpress, Joomla etc… The point is I want to create database websites and update them trough CMS but have my own design used and not those templates that you can find on web for Joomla for example. So is this possible and which CMS solution do you recommend: Joomla, Wordpress or some other? Thanks

I have been making my own website using Joomla but I have become stuck…
I want to add an online radio to my site but cannot work out how to get a Winamp, Real Media or Windows player/button on the home page.
Has anyone used Joomla who could help?
Would also like to learn more about Joomla and would love to meet anyone who enjoys/uses this program.

I found a company in india and they want to do a database driven site for me for $1500 usd. They KEEP calling non-stop and want $750 Upfront with nothing, not even a mock up to show me…
Is this normal?
also, when you hire s programmer how did most take payment, how much do I pay up front to bein the work?
Please help, this is my first site and I don’t want to ger scammed.
PS. they are going to use joomla, virtuart to do the site and I dont know if this is even a good idea?? ( I need a CMS)

I have a custom table in Joomla that I know how to enter data in. My problem is I have no idea how to list all records in the applicable table!
I’ve tried tutorials but something always goes wrong when trying to display data!

I’m working on a web project where a user can sign-up for a membership, while signing up are prompted to supply some info in multiple custom fields. Once signed up, users are provided with a blog www.mysite.com/theirblog or theirblog.mysite.com (preferably with widgets already setup in theme) – They can theme it out of a list of pre-set themes from a back-end. Customize information from user backend. This information will constitute contact information, about me, etc…. That’s it. Nothing too fancy although I can’t seem to find a solution. Wordpress back end is really ugly and hard to customize. Does anyone have a solution – I don’t mind figuring things out on my own, I just need a bit of guidance. Thank You.
I’ve worked out allot of possibilities so far and nothing seems to add up. Wordpress MU has given me a headache. Buddypress is close but it’s lacking in customization and theme compatibility. I’ve tried b2evolution which seems still in the dark ages. I dabbled in Joomla, Drupal & Mambo. I am a computer programmer but I really don’t feel like recreating the wheel if I don’t have to.
